Ross Lynn Charitable Foundation
The North Louisiana Arts Interchange is a program designed to foster collaboration and creative growth among a cohort of eight artists. Originated during the COVID-19 pandemic, the project brings together artists from various backgrounds for a series of virtual meetings and assignments, culminating in a paired final project and a seven-week exhibition. Described as a 'baby residency,' it allows participants to explore new practices without disrupting their daily lives. The program includes guest speakers, ranked-choice partner pairing, and a public reception during the Ruston Art Ramble.
Participants receive a $200 stipend per artist pair for project development, exhibition opportunities at the Gilbert Center Gallery, inclusion in a public reception, and professional networking within a curated cohort.
Open to U.S.-based visual artists over 18 years of age. Applicants must be proficient in English, have reliable internet access for weekly Zoom meetings, and be able to attend multiple in-person meetups in or near Ruston, Louisiana. While open nationally, preference is given to artists from North Louisiana and surrounding regions (East Texas, South Arkansas, Central Mississippi).
Applicants must complete the process via the CaFÉ platform by 11:59pm CST on March 1st. The application requires a headshot, bio/artist statement, resume, a statement of interest (max 2 pages) explaining what the artist hopes to gain, 5-20 portfolio examples (images or videos), and payment of the $25 application fee.
