Wexford Arts Centre
The yearly Wex-Art exhibition invites artists whose work responds to the theme 'Rooted Utopias: Our Future at Play.' This theme encourages re-telling stories that incorporate other beings (human and more-than-human) and re-imagining structures for living, dreaming of and working on new, nature-grounded futures. The exhibition will take place from October 11th to November 1st, 2025, at the Wex-Art Festival Gallery at Westgate Heritage Centre, curated by Karla Sánchez Zepeda. Artists are encouraged to consider the specific exhibition space and the context of the Wexford Opera Festival in their application.
Each selected artist will receive an exhibition fee in line with best practice.
Artists must be currently living and working in the South East region of Ireland, with a particular focus on County Wexford. Preference will be given to artists based in County Wexford and those who have not previously exhibited as part of Wex-Arts Festival. Selection is based on relevance to the theme and overall coherence of the group exhibition.
To submit an application, email the required information and images to wexfestartists@gmail.com with the subject line: 'Rooted Utopias'. Artists must submit no more than six examples of works in Jpeg format (max 3MB per file) and/or three links to previous projects (including films or audio works). A CV, artist statement, and a brief description for each work detailing how it responds to the theme are also required.
