About the Open Call

RISE by Henley Festival is a charitable programme supporting emerging talent in the creative industries. The Emerging Artist Prize acknowledges outstanding visual artists who are not yet established or represented by galleries. Three finalists will be selected to exhibit their work in the RISE Gallery at Henley Festival 2026. Accepted mediums include paintings, drawings, original prints, textile, and mixed media. The work must be wall-mountable and not exceed 1m x 1m.

What is Offered

First prize of £1,000; two runner-up prizes of £500; exhibition space valued at £1,300; 0% commission on sales; transport expenses up to £300; and two complimentary General Admission tickets.

Requirements

Must be 18 or older by December 31, 2025; must live and work in the UK; must not have gallery representation; work must be original, unsold, and wall-mountable (max 1m x 1m).

How to Apply

Submit digital images (JPEGs or PNGs between 1MB-2MB) of three to five unsold works via the application portal or email. Include an artist statement and bio (max 500 words) and an optional 2-minute video introduction/studio visit.
