MFA Exhibition Online - University of Montana
“Residue” is an online exhibition showcasing graduate students from all visual art disciplines, highlighting the ways our experiences shape us and continue to influence our present. This exhibition encourages you to explore what lingers – joy, nostalgia, anxiety, grief, anger, or otherwise – all of which remain embedded in our lives and identities. This exhibition is for MFA and MA student, and is juried by MFA students, peer-to-peer review. It is an excellent opportunity to see works made by your peers and network for the future. The jury process will be complete by the middle of November. We anticipate sending out acceptance and rejection emails by November 12 & 13. Anticipated Website goes live: Monday November 20, 2025.
Modest cash awards for best in show, first, second, and third place.
This exhibition is for MFA and MA students. For images: they should not exceed 3MB and should be in JPG/JPEG format, with the largest dimension (width or height) 2400px. Label images as LastName_FirstName_Title.jpeg. Images will be displayed as judged in the same way they are received. Images should be attached, however, a link is acceptable using common software. For video submissions: video and recorded submissions will initially be juried for the first two minutes. Upload videos via YouTube or Vimeo and email a link. Label the video in YouTube/Vimeo as (LastName_FirstName_Title). Video/recording URL must be submitted in the application. You can submit three video images – please email the same information and links listed. A brief artist statement, written explanation of concept, process or description, no longer than 200 words, is required.
