About the Open Call
This funding is available while Developing Your Creative Practice is paused until April 2026. It is designed for projects where a person develops a new idea or explores a new way of working. Projects can last up to one year and must solely focus on research and development. This includes activities such as developing and testing new ideas, creative residencies, mentoring, shadowing, and professional development.
What is Offered
Ring-fenced budget of £7.5 million. Individual grants range from £1,000 to £30,000, though most grants are expected to be up to £12,000. No match funding is required.
Requirements
Applicants must be individual creative or cultural practitioners (or small collaborating groups) at least 18 years old and based in England or the wider UK. The activity must solely focus on R&D and last no longer than one year.

Apply online through the National Lottery Project Grants £30,000 and under online application form. Access Support Requests must be submitted by midday on Thursday 5 February 2026.
