RED - Online Art Contest

About the Open Call

Artist eligibility: Must be 18 years or older, can be emerging or established, must be able to communicate in English or Spanish. Fee: $20 US for 1-3 images of separate artworks. Artists can submit more than once. Entry fees are NOT refundable and do NOT guarantee entry into the exhibition. Awards: Many awards are available including Best In Show (wins free-entry voucher), Golden Trio Award, Diamond Awards of Excellence, 5 Ruby Awards, Crystal Awards, Awards of Merit and Honourable Mention Awards. All winners receive a digital Award Certificate and top winners also receive a special Award Page. Top winning artwork will be featured in a special Winners Video on Gallery Ring's Youtube channel and 3D Rotation Gallery on the home page. Media: Two-dimensional work done by hand (paintings, drawings), photography, digital, mixed-media, print work and collage are eligible. Sculpture, crafts, jewellery, fabric art, similar media, video, sound, and AI work (unless minimal) are ineligible. Criteria: Originality, mastery of medium, strong overall design and composition, creative and clear interpretation of theme, and a solid, arresting impression and intention in each artwork. Artist Statement: Recommended but not required, maximum 150 words, written in the first person explaining purpose and inspiration for overall practice or submitted pieces. Will not be a jurying factor but used in Award Pages for top winners and could be included in the show. Image requirements: Only 1 artwork and 1 frontal viewpoint per image is permissible. Cannot exceed 2MB, in JPG format. Files must be labeled as Last name-Title of Art.jpg. Cropped to show only the artwork - frames, mat, other backgrounds and watermarks are unacceptable. Clear, without glares and in focus. Artist notification of results: All artists will be notified via email when the show is posted online (approximately one to two weeks after the deadline), receiving digital Award Certificates, Award Pages, Plaques and Vouchers. Sales: Artwork does not have to be for sale. Gallery Ring does not handle sales or take commission but will direct inquiries to the artist. Newsletter subscription: Upon submission, artists are automatically added to Gallery Ring’s email list. Policy: No image substitutions or changes after deadline. All artwork must be original, not copied. Offensive, violent, vulgar, distasteful, negative, or political artwork is unacceptable. Artwork must not have been previously shown on this site. All decisions are final. Selected artwork must remain in exhibition for entire duration. Artists' contact information will not be shared. Gallery Ring reserves the right to cancel, extend or change deadline or exhibition dates or content at any time. Usage Rights: Artists with selected artwork grant Gallery Ring usage for display, promotion, marketing, email newsletters, press releases, website, Instagram, and Youtube Channel. Artist's name will be displayed with artwork. Artwork and artist's name will be archived. Artist maintains all copyrights. Images will not be resold, copied, exchanged or downloaded.

All artwork must be original and not copied from others. Offensive, violent, vulgar, distasteful, negative, or political artwork is unacceptable. Artwork must not have been previously shown on this site.
