About the Open Call

Celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2026, the Ravenswood Australian Women’s Art Prize was established to advance art and opportunity for women artists in Australia. The prize includes three main categories: Professional Artist, Emerging Artist, and Indigenous Emerging Artist. Selected finalists have their work exhibited at the Ravenswood School for Girls, and artworks are available for sale through an online platform.

What is Offered

A total prize pool of $58,000 including: $35,000 for Professional Artist (acquisitive), $7,500 for Emerging Artist (acquisitive), $7,500 for Indigenous Emerging Artist (acquisitive), $2,000 People's Choice Award, and six $1,000 Highly Commended Awards. Winners are also invited to deliver an artist talk or workshop.

Requirements

Open to women artists who are Australian citizens, permanent residents, or have resided in Australia for 12 months prior to entry. Applicants must be 18+ years old by 1 February 2026. Artworks must not exceed 2x2 metres or 20kg. Professional status requires an ABN and specific career milestones.

How to Apply

Applications must be submitted online at https://www.ravenswoodartprize.com.au/app/enter/. Requirements include a 100-word artist statement, a CV, up to three JPEG images of the artwork (max 3MB each), or a link to a video (max 10 minutes). Entry fees are $50 for Professional and $30 for Emerging categories.
