About the Open Call

Apply to have your work considered in the art book, Volume 22, by Friend of the Artist. We are dedicated to elevating the work of emerging artists of all mediums around the world through our high quality art books and caliber of exposure. Accepted artists will also have a written statement about their works by an arts writer and have a 4-page spread of their work. Volume 22 will release in 2026. Artists will also receive a complimentary digital copy of the publication and post on social media.

What is Offered

Selected artists receive a 4-page spread, a written essay by an arts writer, a complimentary digital copy of the publication, and social media coverage.

Requirements

Open to artists of all academic disciplines including painting, sculpture, photography, installation, and performance art. Artists may submit up to 6 images. Selected artists are responsible for a $90 fee to cover book costs and distribution.

How to Apply

Artists can apply online through the provided Jotform link. Submissions require up to 6 images in a printable format (at least 90 dpi suggested). Early bird entry is $30 by November 16, 2025; regular entry is $35 thereafter.
