About the Open Call

The 17th edition of the Prospettiva Danza Teatro International Competition invites choreographers to submit contemporary dance projects. The competition includes a preliminary selection, an optional live presentation phase in Milan or Padua, and a final selection of eight choreographers who will perform live at the G. Verdi Municipal Theatre. The winner is selected to develop their work into a full evening show for the following year's festival. Projects must be contemporary dance with a minimum of two dancers (no solos allowed) and a duration between 15 and 25 minutes.

What is Offered

5,000 EUR pre-tax prize money; one week choreographic residency in Padua; one week choreographic residency in Catania; a performance in the 2027 Festival with an 800 EUR fee; up to 200 EUR travel reimbursement for finalists.

Requirements

Choreographers must be aged 18-45. Performers must be at least 18 years old. Groups must consist of at least 2 dancers (no solos). Projects can be works-in-progress or studies previously performed. Finalists must provide a medical certificate of good health.
