About the Open Call

The Professional Dance Training French Riviera (PDTFR) is based in Grasse, France, offering a two-year multi-disciplinary program for highly skilled young dancers aged 17 to 25. The program focuses on contemporary dance, ballet, improvisation, choreography, and includes healing practices like Yoga and Pilates, and regular mental coaching. Dancers will work with sought-after artists from world-renowned dance companies for the 2025-2026 season including Beaver Dam Company, Cie Inneluctable, Cie NDT1, Cie Peeping Tom, Cie Kor'sia, Cie Hofesh Schecter, Cie Sasha Waltz, and Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch. The weekly training schedule is a minimum of 30 hours. PDTFR aims to cultivate an environment for exploration, challenging physicality and performative skills, fostering vulnerability, growth, and success, shaping versatile artists ready for the professional dance world. Auditions are open for the 2026-2027 season.

Requirements

Highly skilled young dancers aged 17 to 25, striving for a career in the Contemporary Dance world. Required application materials include: 1 video (jumps, floor work, spirals, dynamic changes, space analysis, 2min max), 1 improvisation video (narrative, story, 3min max), CV, motivation letter, and letter of recommendation.

Applicants must send a video assignment (including jumps, floor work, spirals, dynamic changes, space analysis, 2min max), an improvisation video (create a narrative, tell a story, 3min max), CV, motivation letter, and letter of recommendation to contact.pdtfr@gmail.com or administration@pdtfr.com. First round is video submission, followed by an on-site audition in Grasse, Dance District, France on March 10th, 2026, for successful candidates. A third round involves a Zoom meeting with directors. A €50 audition fee is required only for dancers who pass the third round, which will be deducted from tuition upon enrollment.
