COAL
Created in 2019, the COAL Student Prize supports students from art and cultural schools who experiment with and propose concrete, creative solutions to ecological transition. The 2026 edition is dedicated to the theme of 'The Night,' challenging artists to defend the night as a common good, a refuge, and an essential element of ecological regeneration. The prize includes a two-month residency in a French nature reserve and a 5,000 euro endowment.
The winner receives a two-month residency in one of the 350 nature reserves in France with a 5,000 euro endowment covering residency expenses. Three nominated artists will also participate in a master class at the Regenerative Academie.
Applicants must be students in the field of art and culture with a valid student certificate for the 2025-2026 academic year.
Proposals must be submitted through the online form at http://upload.projetcoal.org/formulaire-etudiant/. Applications require a detailed project description, technical note, budget estimate, two visuals, a CV/portfolio, and a 2025-2026 student certificate, all in a single PDF.
