About the Open Call
OCAD University’s Pre-University Summer Intensive (previously known as International Summer Art & Design Residency) is a three-week, hands-on studio experience for domestic and international high school students. This intensive closely resembles the first-year undergraduate experience with studio time, gallery visits, discussions, and projects that help students develop and improve their ideas through full-day studio classes. Participants create a new series of art or design work for their portfolio and participate in a culminating group exhibition.
What is Offered
Instruction from expert OCAD U faculty, studio access, exhibition opportunity, and optional residence accommodation at HOEM with a meal plan.
Requirements
Applicants must have completed Grade 10 and be 16 years or older by the program start. Must provide a written Statement of Intent and an Art/Design Portfolio consisting of 5-8 files. English proficiency is required (recommended IELTS score of 4.5 to 6.0).
