PRAKSIS
Developed by Nicholas J. Jones and Giovanna Esposito Yussif in collaboration with Tenthaus and the Finnish-Norwegian Cultural Institute, this residency addresses the precarious conditions of small-scale cultural work. It invites participants to explore research questions regarding institutional sustainability, strategies for self-care and community support, and alternatives to growth-based ideologies. The programme includes open discussions, collective writing, shared meals, and encounters with local practitioners. Outcomes may include public events, texts, publications, or podcasts developed collectively by the group.
The residency provides a facilitated program, communal research space in central Oslo, private rooms for non-local residents, weekday lunches, weekly group dinners, and a needs-based access stipend of 10,000 NOK for one participant.
Participants must be fluent in English, commit to the full two-week term, participate in group discussions and events, and give a short public presentation of their practice.
Applicants must submit a Google form by 23:59 CET on 11 February 2026. The application requires a summary of practice, a statement on how the applicant's work relates to the residency theme, exploration goals, a CV/bio, and a work sample PDF (up to 5 pages or website links). An application fee of 75 NOK (approx. 6.40 EUR) is required at the end of the form.
