“Post-material feminism” refers to a shift in feminist thinking that re-engages with material conditions—bodies, environments, technologies, and systems of production—while also acknowledging cultural and theoretical frameworks. Contemporary feminist theory increasingly examines how material realities (such as labour, ecology, and physical matter) intersect with gender and power structures, rather than treating culture as separate from material life. In this context, the exhibition seeks works that: Explore relationships between human and non-human matter (e.g. environment, technology, objects) Address embodiment, corporeality, and lived experience Engage with ecological, political, or socio-economic material conditions Experiment with process-based, tactile, or interdisciplinary practices The call positions art as a site where feminist inquiry can move beyond symbolic critique to engage with real-world systems, material flows, and lived realities.
Applicants are typically expected to submit: A portfolio of artworks relevant to the theme A brief artist statement outlining how the work connects to post-material feminist ideas A CV or biography High-quality images or documentation of the work Details on medium, dimensions, and year of production Works can span diverse media (e.g. installation, sculpture, video, textiles, mixed media), with an emphasis on material engagement and conceptual depth.
