This symposium facilitates an intensive workshop to immerse participants in somatic methods and approaches developed by Maya Felixbrot, Ali Baybutt, and Aina Font. It covers exercises centering the body and movement in music, including rehearsal, creation, and performance. The event is designed for musicians, students, educators, and musical movers to exchange experiences and insights, and contributes to the articulation of forthcoming book/manual research. Funding is available for honorariums to cover transport costs for eligible participants.
Practical symposium, intensive workshop, performance sharing, and potential honorarium support for transport costs.
The symposium is open to musicians of all kinds, music scholars, researchers, pedagogues, and musical movers (artists, choreographers, dancers, theatre-makers). Participants are encouraged to attend the full day or the performance sharing segment.
