Research Institute for Sustainability (RIFS) at GFZ
The DAAD Artists-in-Berlin Program, the City of Potsdam, and the Research Institute for Sustainability (RIFS) at GFZ are issuing a joint call for international artists who wish to develop work that explores the intersection between art and sustainability. The program seeks to foster exchange between the arts, academia, politics, and civil society, encouraging voices and perspectives often absent in Western European discussions on sustainability. Research areas include climate change, energy, rights of nature, and citizen engagement.
Monthly stipend of 2,500 Euro, travel expenses lump sum, up to 5,000 Euro housing support, and visa application assistance.
Proficiency in English; interest in sustainability, climate justice, and/or planetary futures; strong artistic portfolio; active in any artistic field.
Applications must be submitted in English via the online application portal. Required documents include a Letter of Motivation (max 2 pages), CV (max 2 pages), Portfolio (max 20 pages), and Project Proposal (max 10 pages), all as separate PDF files.
