About the Open Call

An open-theme annual photography prize designed to support the production and promotion of visual projects. It welcomes all approaches from traditional documentary to experimental storytelling. The grant provides significant financial support, solo exhibitions at major European photography festivals, and educational portfolio reviews. Applicants retain full image copyrights.

What is Offered

£9,000 in total cash prizes (including a £4,000 first prize and a £2,000 New Generation prize); solo exhibitions at PhEST (Italy), Getxophoto (Spain), and PhMuseum Lab (Italy); participation in Photo-Match at Lodz Fotofestiwal; features in PhMuseum's Annual Magazine #02; and 9 free online portfolio reviews.

Requirements

Applicants must submit a visual project consisting of 5 to 20 photographs. Projects must include a description (recommended under 500 words) explaining the concept or story. Mixed media and AI-generated content are allowed if photography is at the core and the process is disclosed.

How to Apply

Click on the Apply Now button to create a PhMuseum account or login. Upload between 5 and 20 photos in JPG or PNG format (maximum 10MB each, 72dpi, at least 1000px on the shortest side). Fill out the project description form and pay the entry fee before the final deadline.
