Petaluma Arts Center
On the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States, Americana Reimagined invites artists from across the greater Bay Area to explore, reinterpret, and reimagine the visual language of 'Americana'. This juried exhibition looks beyond nostalgia to examine how familiar symbols, stories, and styles evolve over time—bridging the past and present through creativity and craft. 'Americana' has long served as a reflection of everyday life and culture, from small-town iconography and handmade crafts to design movements and popular imagery. Artists working in all media are encouraged to submit work that reinterprets traditional American symbols, materials, locations, or aesthetics in new ways, juxtaposes historical and contemporary styles, or draws inspiration from folk traditions and regional identity.
Inclusion in a juried exhibition (March 12–April 18, 2026) and opportunity for art sales (40% commission to the venue).
Open to artists 18 and older living in Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, Sonoma, or Lake counties. 2D/3D artworks must not exceed 40 pounds; framed work must not exceed 48 inches on the longest side; sculptures must not exceed 24 inches on any dimension. All work must be delivered in person to the Petaluma Arts Center (no shipping).
Applications must be submitted through the CaFÉ website. Artists can submit up to 4 entries. 2D and 3D work must be submitted as JPEG or JPG files (under 5MB, minimum 1200 pixels). Video and audio samples are also accepted via file upload or links (YouTube, Vimeo, SoundCloud, etc.).
