Penumbra Foundation
Penumbra Foundation is a NYC-based nonprofit arts organization. Their Workspace Artist-in-Residence Program provides emerging artists with access to time, facilities, critical/technical support, and honoraria for six to eight weeks. The Risograph Publication Residency allows artists to produce a small edition risograph photobook project over one month during the summer, including training, distribution assistance, and a book launch event in September 2026.
Access to comprehensive photography and risograph facilities, technical support, honoraria (for Workspace A-I-R), photobook distribution, promotion, and a formal book launch event.
Applicants should demonstrate creativity and coherence in vision. Workspace residency is specifically for emerging artists. Risograph residency requires a PDF book maquette but does not require prior risograph experience.
Applications must be submitted via the Picter platform. All applicants must provide a Letter of Intent. Workspace applicants must include a summary of intended activities. Risograph applicants must provide a PDF book maquette of their project; failure to include the PDF results in disqualification.
