About the Open Call

The Visiting Artist scheme is an open-call opportunity for UK artists working in dance or movement practices. The Creation Residency provides five full days (27 - 31 July 2026) in a studio to finish or progress a live performance project. Two awards are available: one for a Southwest-based artist and one for an artist based anywhere in the UK. Participants receive advice from in-house dance professionals, including help with funding applications, career guidance, and feedback. There is no expected outcome, but sharing practice with the community is encouraged.

What is Offered

£750 cash bursary (to cover travel, accommodation, and artist fee), 5 days of studio space, and professional development support.

Requirements

Applicants must be 18+ years old, based in the UK, and have at least two years of professional experience, including the public presentation of at least one choreographic work.
