About the Open Call

Paper on Skin™ celebrates the ingenuity and wonder of wearable paper art. Designers from around the world are challenged to create catwalk-ready garments made from at least 80% paper. The 2026 event cycle includes a gala awards evening, a showcase at Basalt, an exhibition of finalist works, and an international workshop series.

What is Offered

Awards include a Major Award of $5000, Runner-Up Award of $2000, Award in Honour of Pam and Neil Thorne ($1500), and other category prizes. Finalists are featured in a live catwalk gala and exhibition.

Requirements

Garments must be made from at least 80% paper, be catwalk-ready, and able to be worn by a human model.
