About the Open Call

Otherwise Residency 2026 seeks one artist to join a practice-based research program focusing on anthropogenic methane fugitive emissions. The residency involves collaboration with experts from the Institute of Biology Bucharest, 2Celsius, and Clean Air Task Force (CATF). The program is divided into four stages: immersion, conceptualization, experimentation, and production, culminating in an exhibition in October 2026.

What is Offered

Stipend of 3000 EUR, production budget (TBD), coverage of travel, accommodation, and per diem. Includes access to technical equipment, datasets, and mentorship.

Requirements

Mid-career artist with a demonstrated interest in interdisciplinary research, ecology, and environmental issues. Must be available to travel to Romania for site visits for at least 2 weeks between June and September 2026.
