Mophradat
The Orbitals program invites four participants to travel to Tashkent, Uzbekistan, to learn about the work of artist and filmmaker Saodat Ismailova. The program focuses on weaving myths, rituals, and spiritual practices into contemporary art, specifically within the post-Soviet Central Asian context. Participants will engage with the feminist curatorial collective DAVRA and research the broader Uzbek art scene. Co-curated by Noor Abed, the program explores craft, embodied knowledge, and colonial narratives.
Mophradat provides round-trip flights, travel insurance, accommodation, per diems, and reimbursement for visa costs.
Applicants must be from or living in the Arab world; be a curator, researcher, or artist with at least five years of professional experience; have experience with international projects; and be currently developing a specific project.
Applications must be submitted via the online form on the Mophradat website. Applicants need to provide a CV, a portfolio documenting three previous projects, and complete the specified application questions. Materials sent by email will not be considered.
