Urbane Künste Ruhr
In cooperation with the History of the Ruhr Foundation, Urbane Künste Ruhr offers three three-month residencies for 2026. The program targets artists whose practice involves research and engagement with archives. Residents gain access to the Library of the Ruhr and the foundation's archives. The residency focuses on themes like mobility, institutional critique, and context-specific practices, with the potential for project inclusion in a 2027 public program in Duisburg.
A gross artist's fee of 5,000 EUR, workspace at the foundation, coverage of one arrival/departure trip, provided accommodation in Bochum, and reimbursement of public transport costs for research.
Professional artists with a research-based practice and interest in archives. Artists must spend at least 75% of their time in the Ruhr area during the stay (September 1 to November 30, 2026).
