About the Open Call

This commission seeks a piece of furniture for Pod 3 at East Quay, designed to offer guests and the public a place to enjoy the coastal atmosphere. The pod features a 'Romantic Industrial' concept and is located on a platform above the second floor. The selected maker is responsible for research, development, materials, fabrication, transportation, and on-site installation of the furniture. Our team will be available to assist during installation.

What is Offered

A commission fee of £3,000 (inclusive of VAT) to cover all expenses, a £300 travel contribution, and a two-night stay in one of the accommodation pods during installation.

Requirements

The opportunity is open to architects, craftspeople, artists, and designers. Collaborative proposals are welcome, though the fee remains the same. Previous experience with outdoor sculpture or public spaces is beneficial but not essential.
