Botanica Grove
Vishuddha: Protect Ya Neck! is a portraiture fine art group exhibition that encourages artists and viewers alike to explore how art and self-expression communicate, connect, and safeguard our inner truths. Drawing inspiration from the Wu-Tang Clan’s iconic track 'Protect Ya Neck,' the show makes a metaphorical connection to the throat chakra (Vishuddha)—the energy center linked to communication, self-expression, and speaking one’s truth. In a world where expression is often stifled or marginalized, Vishuddha: Protect Ya Neck! stands as a powerful reminder of the need to defend our joy, creativity, and identity. Through a diverse range of portraiture, sculpture, and mixed media, the exhibition highlights how protecting one’s voice and spirit is deeply interconnected with the universal need to speak and live one’s truth. Curator's Note: This exhibition is about more than joy—it’s about defending who we are at our core. Through the energy of the throat chakra, Protect Ya Neck! invites artists to speak their truth, celebrate their joy, and defend their voices from those who would try to silence them. Through art, we find strength, resilience, and connection. Curators: Will Watson and Darren Singer.
