Užupis Art Incubator
Užupis Art Incubator is calling for applicants for a live-in residency for the 2025 period. Possible residency periods are from August 11 to September 25, 2025, and from November 8 to December 31, 2025. They are inviting innovative creators from the visual arts field to join the first and one of the largest art incubators in the Baltic State, with priority given to artists from abroad. The offer includes two fully equipped studios (38.23 sqm and 32.51 sqm) suitable for full-time living and creative work, at a preferential price of 360€ per month + utility bills (per studio), located in the scenic heart of Vilnius. This also provides an opportunity to be part of a vibrant creative community and forge new inspiring connections. The studios are pet-friendly and can accommodate one artist or a couple. The Užupis Art Incubator is a dynamic creative space located in the historic district of Užupis in Vilnius, the capital city of Lithuania. It is a space where artists from the visual field and creative industries professionals can collaborate and reside. UAI fosters entrepreneurship, community engagement, artistic innovation, and the development of artistic fusion through peer-to-peer collaborations and openness of creativity to the national and international community. The 1500 sqm spaces house local and international residencies, workshops, educational spaces, and an exhibition gallery. The residences are located in the very center of the city, in Užupis, a unique and bohemian district integral to art's historical and cultural identity. They are looking for young, unique creators in the visual and interdisciplinary fields, including sustainable start-up teams, creators combining technology with art, photographers, and painters. They seek individuals dedicated to their craft, open to creative collaborations, and eager to share their work with the local community through exhibitions, workshops, or interactive events, fostering connection, dialogue, and mutual inspiration.
The Užupis Art Incubator offers two fully equipped live-in studios (38.23 sqm and 32.51 sqm) at a preferential price of 360€ per month + utility bills (per studio) in Vilnius, Lithuania. Applicants must be innovative creators, primarily from the visual arts field, including those in interdisciplinary practices, photography, and painting. Priority is given to artists from abroad. They are seeking young, unique creators who are dedicated to their craft, open to creative collaborations with fellow artists, and eager to share their work with the local community through exhibitions, workshops, or interactive events. Required application materials include a CV and a portfolio of creative work. Legal entities must also provide registration certificates and debt certificates.
Applicants must submit their application by July 26. The application requires providing personal details (Name, Surname), organization name (if applicable), contact information (Telephone No, E-mail address, Website), and indicating if they have been a UAI resident before. Applicants need to specify their preferred studio size (38.23 sqm or 32.51 sqm) and whether they will be sharing it. They must indicate their preferred residency time (August 11 – September 25 or November 8 – December 31). The application also requires details on their field of work (Visual arts, Creative Industries, artistic/cultural/educational/interdisciplinary field), professional registration status, duration of professional creative work (Up to 5 years, 5-10 years, More than 10 years), and any memberships in culture or art unions/associations or professional artist status. Applicants need to present their creative activities and completed projects in detail, including experience in international activities, interdisciplinary collaboration, community involvement, and public art. They must also introduce the creative activities/projects planned for the residency, indicating if the project will be interdisciplinary, community-involving, or create public art. Finally, applicants need to describe how they present their work to the Lithuanian and global market and their sources of funding. Required documents include an Applicant's CV and Portfolio of creative work. Legal entities must also provide a copy of the registration certificate, Articles of Association, and certificates of outstanding debts from relevant tax and social insurance authorities.
