HIAP – Helsinki International Artist Programme and Frame Contemporary Art Finland
Helsinki International Curatorial Programme (HICP) offers one-month residencies for contemporary art curators. Co-organised by Frame Contemporary Art Finland and HIAP, the program provides curators with the opportunity to live and work on the island of Suomenlinna. The residency aims to connect international curators with the Finnish contemporary art scene to plan projects such as exhibitions, public events, and publications. Residents receive individual assistance, networking support, and access to community facilities including workshops and a library.
1200 EUR working grant, travel allowance, combined living and working accommodation (approx 30 sqm), networking support, 24/7 access to community facilities, and an opportunity to deliver a talk or publish a text.
Applicants must be based outside of Finland and possess 2–3 years of professional experience in curating (institutional or independent). Applicants must be able to complete the residency during the specified period from August 17 to September 13, 2026.
Applications must be submitted via the online application form. Required materials include a brief biography (up to 250 words), a motivation statement (up to 250 words), a work plan (up to 250 words), and a link to a portfolio containing up to 10 images or 3 video/audio files. All materials must be in English.
