Delegation of the European Union to Canada and OCAD University
Utopia Rewired invites emerging artists from Canada and the EU to imagine how creativity can re-envision democratic life and economic systems. Selected artists will exhibit during the DemocracyXChange Summit's opening night and participate in summit dialogues. The project focuses on building an economy that serves democracy, challenging extractive systems through relational or regenerative alternatives. Works must fit within a 10x10 ft footprint and be transportable by airplane.
€2,000 artist honorarium, round-trip travel to Toronto, accommodation, production budget up to €1,000, shipping support up to €500, and full summit access.
Applicants must be 18-29 years old, emerging artists, and citizens or residents of Canada or an EU member state with valid travel documents for Canada. Artists must be available to travel to Toronto from April 15-19, 2026.
Submit a single PDF (max 10MB) with bio, artist statement, project proposal, CV, portfolio samples, and budget plan to eupopcanada@gopa.eu by February 2, 2026.
