ACCESS
ACCESS is a Creative Europe supported project aiming for musical experiences that can be enhanced by new forms of listening, creating and engaging audiences and artists, in places not dedicated to music. This call is for the three artistic residencies of the second cycle (2025-2026), directed to artists with a close relation with music and sound, focusing on experimentation, innovation, improvisation, cooperative creation and audience engagement. Selected artists will take part in a 7 or 8-day artistic residency, working collectively to create, record, and publicly present their work. Each residency has a specific theme related to its location. Residency #1: Porto (May 18-24 2026), coordinated by Sonoscopia, focuses on small actions, performances, and recordings within the local community, seeking musicians able to improvise and create collectively, and one creative video artist. Residency #2: Prague (June 9-16 2026), coordinated by Unijazz, involves working with teenagers in a secondary school environment to prepare a site-specific performance. It seeks musicians and sound artists experienced with teenagers, one dancer or performer, and one visual artist. Residency #3: Germ, France (July 20-26 2026), coordinated by Muzzix, encourages sound artists to use the natural environment (French Pyrenees mountains) as a driving force for their artistic process, requiring good physical condition for walking in the mountains with equipment. The consortium team will evaluate applications based on individual experience, quality of portfolios, diversity in age, gender, geography, artistic representation, and capacity to work collectively and in site-specific contexts.
For the 7 days of work, each participant will receive a total fee of 1680€ including employer’s costs. For Prague residency, each participant will receive a total fee of 1890€ including employer’s costs for the 8 days of work. Travel, food and accommodation costs will be covered for the duration of the residency.
Artists should have the nationality or a residence permit of the participating countries of Creative Europe. Capacity to work collectively and in site specific contexts. For Germ (residency #3), artists must be in good physical condition and technically self-sufficient (battery-powered amplifier, acoustic instruments, etc.) and bring their own mountain hiking equipment.
