Open Call: Festival of Regions 2027

About the Open Call

The Festival of Regions 2027 seeks artistic projects, interventions, and unconventional ideas for a festival taking place along the Danube upstream from Linz. We are looking for works that engage with the river as a living actor, establishing new relationships, and involving local communities. The festival encourages interdisciplinary, experimental, and inclusive approaches that consider the river as a partner in social, political, and ecological action. Submissions should be original and avoid predominantly AI-generated content. Selected projects will participate in a festival process culminating in the event from June 11 to June 20, 2027.

What is Offered

Selected projects are part of a curated festival program, receiving support with research, networking, and finding suitable locations or cooperation partners within the region.

Requirements

Applicants must provide a project proposal (max 7 pages), financial plan, timeline, visual documentation, and participant biographies. Selected projects must participate in a kick-off meeting in September 2026, press events, and be personally present during the festival period (June 11–20, 2027).
