Paleohori eco-art space
Symbiotic Danscapes is a 1-month hybrid program—part research residency, part workshop—inviting three guest artists to openly share their choreographic, performative, and movement-based research with a dedicated group of participants. For 4 weeks, in the sloping forest of Paleohori, the three facilitators will bring forward questions emerging from their personal practice, to be explored collectively through movement, dialogue, and shared experience. Participants select one facilitator to primarily work with, while also having access to selected sessions of the other two. The three practices intersect throughout the month, creating a dynamic and interwoven environment for artistic inquiry. Symbiotic Danscapes centers around questions such as: What if choreography served the dancing body's complexities rather than shaping it? What if audience participation were not only presence or engagement but a political gesture? What if dance were not something to be consumed, but an an act of being, becoming, and encountering? This residency invests in time, relationality, and choreographic research as a collective act. You will join two other facilitators in forming the research team. Your contribution includes: Facilitating 38 hours of research + workshop sessions with a mixed group of participants (max. 3 hours/day, Monday–Friday), Participating 6 hours in total of Critical Circles, Bringing your own research questions to be explored collectively, Participating in heart circles, shared meals, and group processes, Attending two online preparatory meetings, and Being present for the full duration of the program. Participants will engage in both guided sessions and open research time with you. Weekly Rhythm: Week 1: facilitating 6 hours in total — introductions, landing, orientation. Weeks 2–4: facilitating 10-11 hours/week (morning or evening sessions). Weekends are free. During your non-teaching hours, you can choose between resting, conducting personal research, or attending your colleagues’ sessions.
