Werktank, Factory for new and old media art
CODE 2026 is a five-month co-creation trajectory running from April to July 2026. Participants work in interdisciplinary groups guided by mentors through physical and remote meetings. The programme addresses the influence of big tech companies on digital autonomy and interrogates government roles in digital agency. The process includes five on-site sessions, remote activities, and a final three-day camping-based hackathon. Group artworks created during the program will be presented at international festivals and events.
Guided mentorship, networking with international professionals, participation in a hackathon, basic camp facilities for the final event, and opportunities to present work at international festivals.
Open to artists, designers, researchers, software designers, and professionals in law, technology, or policymaking from the Netherlands and Belgium. Proficiency in English and availability for all mandatory session dates is required. Participants for the hackathon are expected to bring their own tent or van.
Applicants must complete the registration form at https://tally.so/r/9q90a4 before the deadline of 15 February 2026 at 23:59 CET.
