About the Open Call

Ortega y Gasset Projects is pleased to announce an Open Call for TWO Solo Exhibitions opening in January, 2027: one in the Main gallery space at OyG and one in The Skirt, OyG's dedicated space for site-specific installations. Both opportunities will include an opening reception on Saturday, January 9th, 2027, a programmed event (an artist talk or a closing event), a honorarium of $1000 for each artist/proposal, and promotion on all OyG social media outlets. OyG Co-Directors will work with the artists and make studio visits leading up to the opening of the exhibitions, if possible. The artists are required to fully participate in the exhibitions' installation and deinstallation. Visual artists of all disciplines, ages and geographic locations are encouraged to apply. The artists will be selected by a panel of OyG Co-Directors based on the quality of their work and commitment to their practice.

What is Offered

$1000 honorarium, solo exhibition, opening reception, programmed event, studio visits/mentorship from directors, and social media promotion.

Requirements

Open to visual artists of all disciplines, ages, and geographic locations. Submitted work must have been created within the last 5 years. Artists must be available to participate in the installation and deinstallation of the exhibition.

How to Apply

Submit 10 images or media samples of work created in the last 5 years, a CV (max 2 pages), two references, and a 300-word proposal via the Submittable platform. An application fee of $25 applies, with waivers available upon request.
