Southnord
The Southnord Residency Programme offers visual artists and curators of African descent situated in the Nordics an opportunity to spend time with their practices while immersed in a contemporary African art context. The residency aims to make space for artistic exchange between the Afro-Nordic diaspora and the Continent. The programme takes place in Lusaka, Zambia, at the Lusaka Contemporary Art Centre (LuCAC) for a duration of two months during the Fall/Winter 2026 period (October – January).
Air tickets and accommodation covered by Southnord, access to studio space at LuCAC, monthly stipend for living expenses, and the opportunity to present work during the residency.
Open to visual artists and curators of African descent situated in the Nordics. Applicants must demonstrate artistic merit, project feasibility, and a commitment to cultural exchange.
Interested artists and curators should submit an Artist/Curator Statement (3000 characters max), a Project Proposal (4000 characters max), a Portfolio (5-10 images or digital link), and a CV/Resume through the online application form at https://tally.so/r/A7Bg0W.
