About the Open Call

OffBeat Folk Film Festival seeks submissions that examine folk and working culture in Britain today. The festival accepts films of all lengths and genres, including narrative fiction and music videos. There are no premiere requirements, and films already online are eligible. Selected films are automatically entered for awards such as Best in Folk, Best Sound and Music, and the Community Award. While the festival does not pay screening fees, it provides a platform for folk-themed cinema.

How to Apply

Submit films through the festival's submission process. Fees are tiered: £10 until Oct 31, 2025; £15 in November 2025; and £20 from December 1, 2025, to February 15, 2026.
