MIT Museum
The MIT Museum invites proposals for public programs that investigate Earth’s last unexplored frontier. Projects should connect art, science, technology, and design, with a focus on audience participation. Accepted formats include workshops, films, music, VR/XR, LARP, demonstrations, and performances. The programming will be part of a thematic focus on OCEANS launching in September 2026.
Materials and other expenses for selected programs can typically be reimbursed up to $1,000. Travel costs may also be included within this reimbursement limit.
Proposals must demonstrate a meaningful connection to the OCEANS theme and invite audience engagement. Applicants can be artists, scientists, engineers, designers, or other creative practitioners, including MIT students, staff, faculty, and the broader community. Programs must be accessible to curious adults and teens (middle school and above).
Submit an application via the online portal including the event name, a description of the public program, intended audience, practical considerations, budget, and marketing and promotion plan.
