About the Open Call

Nonclassical AiR is a long-running artist development scheme supporting early-career composers working in contemporary classical, electronic, and experimental music. The two-year residency provides a £1,000 fee for a commissioned work, label release opportunities, mentorship, career coaching, and professional training. The program is committed to inclusivity and reserves one of the four spots for an artist without formal classical notation training.

Requirements

Must be UK-based, over 18, early-career composer, not in formal education, and not hold a commercial recording or publishing contract.
