About the Open Call

The New York Photography Awards program honors, recognizes, and promotes outstanding photographers worldwide, who share their vision with the world, through the lenses that portray the beauty of immutable reality, along with the dichotomy of Big Apple’s panorama. Photography is an art form, with the combination of creative dispositions and underlying afternotes. Therefore, we encourage all photographers, from amateurs to professionals, to express themselves through image, and rekindle sparks of the forgotten past with their everlasting visual arts. Similar to Pygmalion’s time-transcendent sculptures, your creative vision will be enshrined for millennia to come. This is your era to merge past, present, and future within ephemeral imagery. The New York Photography Awards aims to redefine and push the boundaries of photography, where every aspect of a still image is carefully taken to reach international standards. Whether you are a professional or amateur photographer, your creativity will shine through the camera lens. The competition also features a virtual exhibition showcasing critically-acclaimed images from the 2024 New York Photography Awards gallery.

What is Offered

Winners receive cash prizes ($3,000 for Professional Photographer of the Year, $2,000 for Amateur/Student Photographer of the Year, $100 for Category Winners), the 2025 New York Photography Awards statuette, printable e-Certificates, interviews and features on Muse.World, dedicated winner’s page, and social media posts. Critically-acclaimed images are also showcased in a virtual exhibition.

Requirements

Open to all photographers, from amateurs to professionals, worldwide. Submissions are for still images across various categories including New York Photography, Architecture, Commercial, Editorial, Fine Art, Nature, People, Black & White, Minimalist, Event, Mobile, and Film Photography.
