About the Open Call

Participation in the Year 13 program is a yearlong commitment from September 2026 to August 2027. The program offers five specialized tracks: Art & Code, Creative Science, Extended Realities, Launchpad, and Social Architecture. Members receive access to professional development, mentorship, and bookable workspace facilities including Media and Fabrication Labs. The program is dedicated to helping members build sustainable practices or launch new business ventures.

What is Offered

Access to bookable workspace in lower Manhattan, professional development workshops, dedicated mentorship, use of Media and Fabrication Labs, and opportunities to present work at the annual DEMO festival. Specific tracks offer additional stipends or travel support via partners like ARKO and FCINY.

Requirements

Open to independent practitioners, studios, collectives, and early-stage startups working across art, tech, and design. Membership is not open to students (undergraduate or graduate), though PhD candidates may be considered. Participation requires a commitment of 4-8 hours per week.

How to Apply

Applicants must submit an application through the Submittable platform, including a slide deck as a primary component. Applications are reviewed by NEW INC staff and external experts, followed by a virtual interview round for selected candidates.
