About the Open Call

Launched in 2023, the NC Choreographic Fellowship provides North Carolina choreographers and dancemakers with 7-9 days of uninterrupted creative time. Awardees receive private lodging for up to five artists, rehearsal space in the Red Barn Studio at Odonata Farm, and the chance to engage with a regional community. The fellowship is designed for artists at a catalytic point in their career who are incubating a new project for future public presentation.

What is Offered

$1,000 honorarium, private lodging for up to five artists, rehearsal space, welcome dinner, per diems for up to five artists, shared use of grounds (firepit, hot tub), mentorship in performing arts management, and an optional work-in-progress showing.

Requirements

Applicants must be choreographers who have been residents of North Carolina for at least one year and are at least 21 years old. Choreographers at any stage of their careers are invited to apply. Video work samples must not exceed five minutes and must not be promotional videos or montages.

How to Apply

Applications open December 3, 2025, via Submittable. Required materials include a CV/Resume, a one-page 'Why Trillium Arts?' statement, one letter of recommendation (due by January 23, 2026), and a video work sample of up to five minutes.
