About the Open Call

Chico Art Center seeks photographic submissions for Narrative, a thematic exhibition running from August 15 to September 18, 2026. Participating artists will have the opportunity to present their work in a professional gallery setting with promotional support across the center’s networks, an exhibition catalog, and an artist reception. Accepted works must be ready for gallery display.

Requirements

Artists must submit digital images for review (1–7 images) with clear labeling. Entry fee applies: $35 for non-members, $25 for Chico Art Center members. Selected work must be ready for exhibition, adhering to gallery hanging requirements (no sawtooth hangers; alternative works require installation instructions). Artists are encouraged to attend the opening reception and may be contacted for additional materials (statement, resume) for the exhibition binder. Work previously exhibited at Chico Art Center is not eligible for this call
