About the Open Call

Mutual Dance Theatre (formerly MamLuft&Co. Dance) is a repertory modern dance company based in Cincinnati. They are looking for racially diverse, technically strong, and collaborative performers. The company works with both local and national commissioned artists. The work involves a deep discovery process, requiring dancers who are adaptable and enjoy non-traditional performance settings such as in-the-round or studio arrangements. Rehearsals are 12 hours a week over 3 days, designed to allow dancers to maintain other employment.

What is Offered

Company Members receive performance pay via lump sum or monthly honorarium. Training is provided at no cost, and teaching positions with the Arts Centers are available.

Requirements

Strong modern technique (release, somatic-based, contact improvisation), availability for rehearsals (August-May) and an in-person orientation in late July, and a collaborative creative spirit.

How to Apply

Submit a single email to jeanne@mutualarts.org with the subject 'Audition submission'. Include a video of phrasework or choreography demonstrating technical range (reels or a provided phrase are acceptable), a short video demonstrating specific movements (grande battement, leap, and arabesque), and an optional partnering video.
