Mudhouse Residency
The Mudhouse Residency is holding two summer residency sessions in 2026, accepting 24 Artists and one Full Fellowship Artist for each session. The Early Acceptance application for 2026 is now open, with a deadline of October 31, 2025. It allows artists to choose from three residency fee tiers ($4400, $3600, $2800), which include accommodations, studio space, and two meals daily for the two-week duration. Artists requiring financial aid may perform a job during their residency. The Full Fellowship Award for 2026 covers accommodations, studio space, and two meals daily at no cost to the artist; the deadline is January 1, 2026. This award is highly competitive. The General Application for 2026 opens November 1, with rolling admissions beginning December 1 until April 1, or until spots are full. This also offers the three residency fee tiers. Returning alumni are encouraged to apply with a project proposal for a reduced fee of $2600. The Mudhouse Residency aims to provide significant artist support through full and partial fellowships.
Accommodations, studio space, and two meals each day for a two-week residency. Full and partial fellowships are available, with some partial fellowships including an additional stipend. Alumni are offered a reduced residency fee.
Artists are responsible for their own travel to the residency, daily stipends for groceries, art supplies, or excursions outside of the village. Artists applying for the lowest fee tier may be asked to perform a job (studio maintenance, exhibition crew, tech assistance). Returning alumni are required to submit a project proposal.
Applicants can apply through three different tracks: Early Acceptance, Full Fellowship Award, or General Application. Early Acceptance application is available via Slideroom at https://mudhouseresidency.slideroom.com/#/login/program/86155. The Full Fellowship Award application is also on Slideroom at https://mudhouseresidency.slideroom.com/#/login/program/86156. The General Application will open November 1 on the Mudhouse Residency website: https://www.mudhouseresidency.com/apply. Artists are welcome to apply to both the Full Fellowship Award and the General Application. Returning alumni should submit a project proposal directly.
