About the Open Call

VCCA provides time and space for national and international writers, visual artists, and composers of talent and promise to bring forth their finest works. Selected artists come to Mt. San Angelo in Amherst, Virginia for intense periods of creative work, free from the distractions of day-to-day life. Fellows enjoy private studios, private bedrooms, and meals, working in concentrated solitude and re-energizing in the company of other artists. Fellows are selected by peer review based on professional achievement or promise.
