About the Open Call

This is the first round of a two-round selection process for a new permanent public art sculpture honoring the history and legacy of the Moscow Police Department. The selected work will be installed in an alcove near the entrance of the station. The project budget for the artwork is up to $85,000, covering all artist costs. Artists must be 18+ and residing in the United States, with preference given to local and regional Idaho/Washington artists. The final installation is expected by April 30, 2027.

What is Offered

Artist honorarium up to $85,000 for the final commission, with a $1,000 stipend for each of the three finalists selected in Round 1.

Requirements

Artists eighteen years of age or older residing in the United States. Must submit a letter of interest, resume, and work samples. Finalists must be able to create a site-specific proposal.

How to Apply

Submit application materials through the Submittable platform including a letter of interest, resume, and up to 6 photographs of at least 2 completed public art projects of similar or larger scale.
