Monira Foundation
The Monira Foundation's residency in Chicago provides rent-free, non-living studio space for interdisciplinary artists to focus on specific projects. The program emphasizes self-sufficiency, cross-disciplinary experimentation, and public engagement through a mandatory Open House. Artists are encouraged to share their process, research, or project outcomes with the community. The studio is approximately 20 sqft x 50 sqft and features a performance floor, tables, and stools. Residents are also invited, though not required, to donate a work to the Mana Permanent Collection at the end of their term.
Rent-free studio space for six months, professional networking opportunities, and future stipend (TBD).
Applicants must be at least 18 years old, not currently enrolled in an undergraduate program, and possess a U.S. Social Security Number/work authorization. Candidates should be Chicago-based or within commuting distance and comfortable with self-directed work environments.
