Mon-Art Residence Programme in Hungary – Call For Artists

About the Open Call

The residency at Tihany Abbey focuses on artistic exploration of Benedictine heritage, landscape, and lavender-Balaton ecologies, through slow, community-linked practices that align with MON-ART’s values of sustainability, ethics, regeneration, inclusion, and circularity. Artists are encouraged to explore spiritual heritage, liturgical life, and community roles while developing site-sensitive works. The residency period is from 2026.08.01 to 2027.04.30, with durations of 3 or 6 months. Selected artists receive a monthly compensation of 1.000 EUR to cover expenses.

What is Offered

1.000 EUR per month, accommodation in a guesthouse apartment at the Abbey of Tihany, and coverage of travel and production costs.

Requirements

Minimum B2 level of English is required. Applicants may apply for a maximum of two residencies.
