About the Open Call

The Modern Impressionist Salon is a monthly contest celebrating the brilliance of contemporary impressionist paintings. Through this contest, we hope to bring a greater awareness to impressionist artists of today and their work. This Month’s contest is judged by Master Impressionist Artist of the Year Kimball Geisler. The November/December Modern Impressionist Salon is currently open for submissions, judged by internationally renowned artist Kimball Geisler.

What is Offered

Annual Grand Prize: $10,000 cash prize and title of Master Impressionist of the Year (announced July 2026). Monthly Salon Prizes: 1st place receives $800, a featured article, and a full-page ad. 2nd and 3rd places receive cash prizes and half-page ads. 3 honorable mentions and top 20 paintings will be recognized and published in the magazine.
