National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea (MMCA)
The MMCA Residency, run by the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea (MMCA), is calling for applications for its International Artist/Researcher Residency Program 2026. This program fosters creative exchange with leading art professionals and includes participation in various residency activities such as exhibitions, open studios, and cultural events. The program is held at MMCA Residency Changdong (257 Deongneung-ro, Dobong-gu, Seoul, Republic of Korea). Two programs are offered: the International Artist Residency Program for Visual Arts, and the International Researcher Residency Program focusing on Modern and Contemporary Asian Art. Both programs are 10 weeks long and provide a live-in-studio with a private room, along with a monthly grant.
Participants receive a live-in-studio with a private room and a monthly grant of 1,200,000 KRW (approx. 870 USD), totaling 3,600,000 KRW for the entire 10-week residency. The program also offers opportunities for creative exchange, exhibitions, open studios, and participation in cultural events.
Applicants may only apply to one program. Dual applications will not be accepted. For International Artist Residency, discipline is Visual Arts. For International Researcher Residency, research focus is Modern and Contemporary Asian Art.
